Hours and Admission

Welcome to the State Owned Historic Sites.  We are open all summer with fun activities including events and programs for kids and families.  There are opportunities at many of the sites to enjoy trails and the outdoors.

Please Note: When the state-owned historic sites are closed for the season, access into the historic buildings is not permitted. You are welcome to tour the grounds year round.

In addition to Vermont Days and Bennington Battle Day, here are more ways for eligible Vermonters to explore our Historic Sites throughout the season at free or reduced rates:

  • Any Vermonter can check out a Free Pass from the local library. Each pass provides access for up to 8 people.
  • Veterans and seniors can obtain a Green Mountain Passport from their town clerk’s office, for a one-time fee of $2. The Passport allows free access to Historic Sites if you are a legal resident of Vermont 62 years of age or older, OR a veteran of the uniformed services.
  • All active military personnel (and immediate family members) are always admitted free. Thank you for your service.
  •  All State-owned Historic Sites offer discounted rates for pre-registered groups over a specified size. Call sites for details.
