The Sewing Room

Sewing Room:  This room is set up as a sewing room.  The furnishings and history of this room is limited.  The dresser and commode are chestnut; a “poor man’s” version of the Renaissance Revival furnishings seen in the West Chamber (Justin’s room). The sewing machine dates from 1870.  The two framed prints leaning against the outside wall are not original to the house and were acquired by William Berghorn, President of the historic Morrill Foundation that purchased the Homestead in 1961 and donated it to the State of Vermont in 1968.
